On your visit to our office, you will be welcomed as a member of our family and our receptionist will greet you and your pet with a warm smile. If you are new to our hospital, you will then be asked to fill out our required forms which will help us gain some information about your pet and any existing or new medical conditions. Each visit to our hospital typically lasts approximately 25 to 35 minutes unless extensive diagnostic test is performed.
The receptionist will then request one of our Certified Veterinary Technicians come in to talk to you. They will ask you some specific questions regarding your pet’s history and further discuss possible veterinary medical care that may be of benefit to your pet. Finally, our Veterinarian will come into the room and perform a thorough physical examination and make any recommendations that are specific to you and your beloved family member. Occasionally, we may talk to you about specialists in our area that are trained specifically to address difficult medical issues. We believe in diagnosing a problem before initiating treatment and nothing will be done in our office without your consent. Estimates are provided to all clients visiting our hospital.
After the doctor consults with you and reviews your pet’s history, your pet will have a thorough 12 system physical examination. During the examination, the veterinarian will verbalize all of the findings as they progress from one system to another. If any abnormalities are found during your pet’s examination, we will discuss these findings with you in detail. We may recommend additional testing to diagnose or confirm any health problems.
Information provided to you
The veterinary healthcare team will provide you with additional information pertaining to your pet’s physical examination and go over all the recommendations for continued care and/or medical treatment for your pet. If medical treatment is necessary or tests are performed, we will provide you with an estimate and answer any questions or concerns you may have about the recommended procedures or tests.
Treatment may include prescribing medications, vaccinations, dietary changes, etc. to get your pet back to a healthy status. Depending on the nature of your visit, we may recommend further diagnostic testing to help us determine the extent of your pet’s illness. If your pet requires testing that may increase the length of your visit, we will offer you the opportunity to leave your pet with us for a short period of time while the diagnostic tests are performed. However, you are welcome to remain with your pet throughout the process.
